In the 1981 classic, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” we meet our protagonist, Henry “Indiana” Jones in the first scene of the film. While navigating his way through booby trapped caves and caverns, Indy tries to steal a relic which belongs to a tribe of Hovitos warriors. Little does he know, he is outsmarted by our antagonist in the film, Dr. Rene Belloq, who is an arrogant French archaeologist and Indy's rival and nemesis. Dr. Belloq soon leads a Nazi regime, trying to find the lost ark in Egypt.

In the beginning of the film, Indiana Jones is physically and emotionally unstable, due to losing the relic he traveled to South America to get. Upon his arrival back to the United States, he is then asked by several colleagues to embark on a journey to Cairo, to find this “Lost Ark.” Metaphorically you can say that Indiana Jones is an adventurous work horse; giving up limbs to save the people and things he loves. Now, what stands in Indiana Jones way of returning back to California with the ark sooner, is Dr. Belloq himself, and his Nazi henchmen. Jones has to get through obstacles, and hundreds of his men, with little help from his woman, and Egyptian friend.

At the end of “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” Indiana Jones and his woman were successful in acquiring the ark, without losing their lives in the process. As for everyone else; they turned to dust. Now, the way Indy embarked on this journey is an amazing one. The journey to me, was a ‘road trip with adventures.’ By day, Indiana Jones is an archaeological studies professor, but by night, turns into a tomb raiding super hero so to speak. At each point in the film, there was either a fight, argument, or some detour for Harrison Ford to overcome, which shows he was willing to risk his life for the greater good. Personally, if I was one of his students I would brag that he was my teacher!
